Two separate fatal crashes plagued Houston highways overnight and into the morning on Monday.
The accidents happened in the early morning hours of Monday, April 19th.
According to ABC 13 News, in the first wreck, a semi truck flipped onto an exit ramp on I-10 East westbound at the Eastex Freeway and burst into flames, killing the unnamed truck driver.

The exit ramp was still closed at 9:30 a.m., and drivers were advised to find alternate routes for their morning commute.
The second crash happened at around 2:30 a.m. on the North Freeway at Spring Cypress Road/FM 2920. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office reported that a street sweeping crew had stopped on the shoulder to evaluate their equipment after running over some large debris.

As the crew evaluated their equipment, an SUV veered onto the shoulder and smashed into the back of the sweeper truck.
The force of the impact sent the SUV and street sweeper erupting into flames.
The SUV driver was killed in the crash, but the street sweeper driver is expected to recover.
