The passenger in a semi truck was arrested in Iowa on Sunday after the driver and passenger became engaged in a dispute.
The incident began at around 11:30 a.m. on May 16th in the 28000 block of K Avenue in Adel, Iowa.
According to The Perry News, 21-year-old Noah M. Regalado “demanded” that the trucker “drive back to Salt Lake City, Utah,” but the driver “refused” and “asked” Regalado to “get out of the semi.”
Regalado then allegedly punched the driver, who promptly threw Regalado’s belongings out onto the side of the road, hoping it would get Regalado to “get out of the truck.” Regalado apparently continued to refuse to leave the cab and instead assaulted the trucker again by “punching him in the face.”
Regalado has since been arrested for first-offense domestic abuse, assault-bodily injury, or mental illness. He is currently being held in Dallas County Jail on $1,000 bond, and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on May 27.
The personal relationship between the driver and Regalado is not clear. The driver’s identity has not been released.
