A truck driver was shot and wounded while driving through Florida on Monday.
The shooting happened on Interstate 95 in St. John’s County on February 8th.
According to Action Jax News, the trucker was heading north on I-95 when he was suddenly shot. His girlfriend, who was resting in the sleeper berth at the time of the shooting, quickly called 911 after the trucker told her what happened.
Miraculously, the trucker managed to drive for five more miles after he was shot so that he could safely park at a rest stop.

“Why? And who? You know, how bad is he?” said the driver’s girlfriend, Dorsi Simmons, of her initial reaction to the shooting.
The trucker was then flown to a hospital for treatment. Officials say he is “expected to survive,” but are still investigating the incident.
“If anybody sees anybody out there, or somebody bragging about, they shot somebody going down the interstate, please let us know, let the Sheriff’s Office know,” Simmons said.
The suspect was described as driving a silver or gray car, but authorities have no other information.
