An Australian truck driver and recruiter is finally ready to release a trucking-themed board game that’s been in the making for more than 20 years.
Trefor Jones spent several years working as a driver and 40 years as a recruiter. Now, he’s ready to spread his love for trucking to children and adults alike through his original board game, Linehauler.
“Linehauler has been a 20 year project with a small gap in between. I had it all under way 20 years ago, then it all fell over and I shelved it for 10 years. Now I thought I’d have another crack at this boardgame,” Jones said.
In the game, players work their way around the game board, slowly building their fleet as they head towards driving a road train, otherwise known as the “King of the Road.”
“The good news is I eventually got two backers and with the added help of a new short Kickstart programme, we are now fully funded. We are hopeful of launching it at the National Road Transport Hall of Fame Festival in August 2021,” said Jones.
