According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), a semi truck traveling in the eastbound lanes crossed over the dirt median into westbound traffic, where it struck two other commercial vehicles and multiple passenger vehicles.

The truck that crossed over into westbound traffic caught fire after the crash.

Police have confirmed that two people were killed. Several others were taken to the hospital for treatment of various injuries.
