Two in custody for stealing rig packed with children’s toys

Two people have been arrested for the theft of a tractor trailer full of children’s toys in Los Angeles earlier this week.

The truck was stolen in Los Angeles, California on September 27th, and the two individuals were arrested on September 28th just after 10 a.m.

According to Fontana Herald News, the owner of the rig contacted police to let them know their rig had been stolen, but notified officers that it was equipped with GPS. With the help of the GPS, officers were able to locate the stolen rig in the 15000 block of Valley Boulevard in Fontana, where the truck in question was parked in plain view.

Officers then conducted an occupied vehicle check and discovered two men inside. Neither individual had permission to possess the tractor trailer, and so both were arrested on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Both men, 32-year-old Antonio Garcia and 21-year-old Jose Depazgamez, were booked into the West Valley Detention Center.

Police are still investigating and urge anyone with information on the incident to contact investigators at the Fontana Sheriff’s Station.
