Police in Kansas City, Missouri, are investigating a single vehicle crash that claimed two lives on Wednesday.
The crash happened shortly after 4 p.m. on December 1 near the Truman Sports Complex.
Police say that a truck driver traveling westbound on I-70 lost control while exiting onto I-435 southbound, causing the the semi truck to overturn on the left side of the roadway and catch fire.
Both the truck driver and a passenger died in the crash.
The truck was hauling containers epoxy at the time of the crash. These were not burned in the truck fire, according to police.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Kansas City Police Department.
Update: Hazmat was brought in to remove the fuel that spilled from the semi. Also, the semi was carrying epoxy. That will have to be removed. pic.twitter.com/vAZeUYN65H
