Two men in custody are ‘persons of interest’ in murder of 72 year old log truck driver

Published:

Alabama police may be one step closer to solving the murder of a truck driver found shot to death late last month.

Jackson Police say that Hikeem Edmond, 22, and Kylyn Taylor, 20, are persons of interest in the January 28 murder of log truck driver Thearthor Dixon, 72.

Edmond and Taylor were arrested on unrelated charges on January 29 and are being held at the Montgomery County Detention Center.

Both of the men are currently charged with kidnapping and robbery unrelated to Dixon’s death. The two men allegedly kidnapped a male subject at gunpoint during an armed robbery at a Dollar General store in Montgomery, Alabama.

Dixon was found dead near his truck at a gravel pit site in Jackson, Alabama, in the early morning hours of January 28. He was shot multiple times in what is thought to have been a robbery attempt.

Dixon’s body was found by a worker at a nearby gravel pit, who called 911.

This is a developing story.
