Two people hospitalized following carriage vs semi wreck

Two people were taken to the hospital on Saturday after a semi truck collided with a horse carriage in South Carolina. 

The incident happened on June 19th in Charleston. 

According to News 12, a semi truck was heading east on Broad Street when it turned left onto Meeting Street and struck the back of a horse drawn carriage. The horse startled in the crash and began running, while the truck hauling a flatbed trailer fled the scene. 

The carriage driver and a female passenger in the carriage were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The horse was not hurt in the crash. 

The truck driver involved in the crash has still not been identified.
