Two thieves remain on-the-run after robbing armored truck

Police say it's not clear how much money they got away with.

Two men are still at large after robbing an armored truck in Alabama on Tuesday morning.

The robbery occurred on January 5th at around 7:25 a.m. at a gas station in Mobile, Alabama.

According to Fox 10 News, a Brinks security truck driver was parked at a gas pump at at Chevron station on Higgins and Tufts Road when two armed men approached him, demanding cash.

The two men “took a large sum of money and fled the scene in a blue four door passenger vehicle,” just moments before police arrived and surrounded the area, reported Cpl. Ryan Blakely.

Officers are now “interviewing the witnesses, trying to get everybody’s statements so they can gather enough information so they can catch the subjects,” Cpl. Blakely continued.

There were multiple surveillance cameras at the location, and police are now going through the footage to try to determine the identity of the thieves.

As of Wednesday, it is not clear how much money the two men made off with.
