In an interview promoting the new movie “The Ice Road,” Hollywood star Liam Neeson shares new insights he gained about the trucking industry while filming.
In an interview shared on Friday by the A.V. Club, Neeson is asked about what he learned about the trucking industry while playing the role of a driver who takes a dangerous job on the ice road to rescue trapped miners.
Neeson responded with a heartfelt, thoughtful answer highlighting his respect for the men and women of the trucking industry.
“Respect, for a start, that’s the main word,” Neeson said.
The actor describes how he was in awe of the sheer size and power of the trucks used in the film and “intrigued” by the skill of the driver who he rode along with as he shifted gears.
“That’s the word that came into my head, just respect for these drivers,” Neeson stated.
Neeson goes on to talk about the things he’d bring along in his rig if he were to switch careers and become a trucker.
