VIDEO: No wind, no speed, ‘just black ice’ toppled truck, troopers say

Published:

Oregon State Police (OSP) shared dash cam video captured by a trooper who happened to be driving by the moment that a semi truck hit a patch of black ice and slid off the roadway.

From OSP:

There was no excessive traffic, the truck was not speeding, there were no high winds, it was just black ice that caused this Commercial Motor Vehicle to slide off the roadway and onto its side. Lucky, the truck landed in the soft snow and there were no injuries.

OSP Trooper just happened to be driving by on US 395 North of Lakeview near mp 138 when he caught the crash on his dashcam. This happened on December 27, 2021, at 9:43 AM
