VIDEO: Semi stack goes flying after low bridge strike

Traffic cameras captured the moment that a semi truck driver tried to sneak under a bridge and lost his stacks as a result.

The video was captured at a notorious railroad bridge over Gregson Street in Durham, North Carolina. The formerly 11’8″ bridge was hit so often that it was raised by 8 inches to 12’4″, but that didn’t help the truck driver in the video below.

“On October 21, a semi truck damaged the faring and stacks when the driver pulled under the canopener bridge. When the driver then reflexively decided to just put it in reverse and back out, he REALLY messed up the fairing and lost one of the exhaust stacks,” said YouTube user yovo68.
