VIDEO: Thieves swipe FedEx rig as driver steps out to make a delivery

Two men stole a FedEx semi truck parked on the side of the road for a delivery earlier this month, now police are asking the public for help in identifying the culprits.

The theft happened on March 19th at around 3:59 p.m. in Vernon Parish, Louisiana and was caught on video by the rig’s dash cam.

According to ABC 3 News, the truck was parked on the side of Highway 1146 when the driver hopped out and walked down a long driveway to complete a delivery. As the driver was away from their rig, a red pickup pulled in front of the parked rig and came to a stop. Two men exited the pickup and one hopped in the driver’s seat while the other walked up to the parked FedEx truck.

The video then shows one man driving the pickup away, with the man in the FedEx truck soon following. The man in the FedEx truck then drives the rig down the highway and through some back roads before parking it in a field.

The truck was later located by police near Simmons Road, but officers still have no idea who the men were.

Anyone with any information regarding the identity of the persons involved in this theft should contact the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office
