A swerving lane change sends a motorist spinning out of control into the path of an oncoming semi truck in this video.
The dash cam clip was captured in Libertyville, Illinois.
According to Lake and McHenry County Scanner, officers received a call reporting the crash on Route 137 east of Interstate 94 at around around 4:40 p.m. Police say that a Toyota Highlander and Chevrolet Trailblazer were both traveling eastbound on Route 137 past Interstate 94 when the Chevy tried to abruptly switch lanes and lost control. The Chevy then spun out, struck a guardrail and hit the Toyota, which sent both cars skidding into the westbound lanes of traffic where the two cars struck a semi truck and caused it to jacknife across the westbound lanes.
The Chevy driver was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries and will be cited for the crash. No other injuries have been reported.
