On Monday, the Connecticut State Police shared alarming video of a runaway truck striking several vehicles in a residential area.
The video was captured on Monday afternoon in Torrington, Connecticut.
In the video, you can hear the truck driver blasting the horn in an attempt to warn people out of the way prior to crashing into vehicles on the street.
The Torrington Police Department confirmed that the truck struck “a number of vehicles on the roadway after a suspected equipment malfunction” but that no serious injuries had been reported.
Connecticut State Police say that they were called to the scene to conduct a vehicle inspection after the incident.
“This frightening video serves as a reminder to all Connecticut drivers to be aware of their surroundings and the traffic around them at all times. Thankfully the driver in front of this runaway truck was able to avoid being struck and pulled off the road safely because they were paying attention. The State Police Truck Squad actively conducts enforcement on highways, conducting inspections on trucks to prevent incidents like this!” troopers said.
