Wisconsin interstate ramp drenched in motor oil after ‘homemade trailer’ blows a tire

Published:

The Wisconsin State Patrol (WSP) says that a large amount of motor oil was spilled in a recent incident in Eau Claire County.

Troopers say that they responded to an oil spill on the I-94 ramp to WIS 37 in Eau Claire County last week.

According to WSP, “a tire blew out on a homemade trailer,” causing 330 gallons of motor oil to spill out on the roadway.

Troopers said that the driver unhooked the trailer and left the scene “but was later located.”

The I-94 ramp was shut down for hours while crews cleaned up the spill.

It isn’t clear whether the driver will be charged.
