Woman killed in truck rollover triggered by Wyoming winds

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says that a semi truck passenger lost her life yesterday in a truck crash that happened during high winds.

The fatal crash occurred around 9:20 a.m. on January 27 on Wyoming 220 west of Casper, according to a news release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Troopers say that a semi truck was westbound near mile marker 106 when the driver lost control due to a gust of strong wind.

The truck left the roadway and overturned, then slid down an embankment.

The truck driver, 59 year old Wisconsin resident Lawrence Hughes, was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

The truck passenger, 59 year old Wisconsin resident Machael Hughes, died at the scene.

Both of the truck occupants were wearing a seatbelt when the crash occured.
