A woman has been sentenced for a domestic violence incident that took place in the yard of an Idaho trucking company earlier this year.
The incident in question took place in March 2021, but the woman, 49-year-old Crystal Renay Allery, was sentenced on Wednesday, September 1st.
According to KAKE ABC News, Allery was attempting to drive her semi truck drunk when her male companion resting in the sleeper stopped her. After he refused to let her drive drunk, Allery attacked him with bear spray, forcing him out into the 19 degree weather in just his sleep clothes.
Officers arrived to find the half naked man with his head and shoulders covered in bear spray and Allery nowhere to be seen. Officers soon found her at a nearby truck stop, where she told officers that the man has strangled her first, which led her to attack with bear spray. Official reports say that officers could find no evidence to support the claim that she had been strangled.
Allery was initially charged with felony domestic battery, but has since pled guilty to misdemeanor battery as part of a plea agreement. She will spend two years on probation, but will serve 148 days in jail if she does not stick to the terms of her probation.
Allery was also ordered to pay $357.50 in fees and fines and will undergo a domestic violence evaluation.
