“Zero evidence” found in support of Biden’s claim that he “used to drive an 18 wheeler”

President Biden has come under fire this week after making the claim that he “used to drive an 18 wheeler” during his visit to a Pennsylvania Mack Truck facility.

Biden visited the Lehigh Valley Mack Truck Plant on Wednesday, July 28th as part of the unveiling of his new ‘Buy America’ plan – a strategy aimed at pumping more federal funds into creating and supporting American Products, such as Mack Trucks.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the proposal is intended to boost American manufacturing by tightening the standard around what qualifies as an “American” product. Currently, the federal government is required to spend tax dollars on American products. However, products made with just 55% American components are considered ‘made in America’ by the federal government under the current rules. Under the ‘Buy America’ plan, this standard will gradually be raised to require 75% of a product’s components be made in America in order for the product to qualify.

During Biden’s tour of the Mack Truck facility, he made a joke that he was ‘only there to drive a truck,’ and was even recorded saying “I used to drive an 18-wheeler, man… I got to.”

Despite these claims, researchers say that there is “zero evidence” that Biden was ever a trucker, or even got behind the wheel of a semi truck. In fact, when questioned about the validity of the statement made by President Biden, a White House Spokesperson could only point to a December 1973 article from the Wilmington Evening Journal that depicted Biden riding as a passenger in a semi truck on a 536 mile haul to Ohio.

The spokesperson was also able to point out that Biden possibly drove a school bus as a summer job at one point, but school buses “have two axles, with the bigger models having two wheels on the front axle and four wheels on the dual axle, for a total of six wheels,” according to Fox News.

“There is zero evidence that Biden “used to drive an 18 wheeler”,” wrote RNC Researcher Zach Parkinson.

“The extent of Biden’s trucking experience is that he **rode in** a truck once, for one night in 1973 (he made sure to return home by plane though)”
