$100k bond set for trucker accused of shooting at box truck driver

Published:

A semi truck driver has been arrested and placed on $100,000 bond after shooting at a box truck in a fit of road rage, police say.

The truck driver was arrested after a brief search on February 25th, and his bond was set on Monday, February 28th in Montgomery, Ohio.

According to Fox 19, police began searching for the truck driver, 38-year-old Herlando M. Gwynn after receiving reports that he had fired a 9 millimeter handgun at a box truck driver on Interstate 71 near Pfeiffer Road. Police issued a brief BOLO, but found Gwynn just 30 minutes later on I-71 NB near OH-68 by OSP Wilmington Post.

The affidavit states that Gwynn shot at the box truck driver, Timothy L. Carnes, because Carnes kept cutting him off. Upon investigation, officers found two bullet holes in the box truck. Gwynn is now facing two counts of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

Gwynn’s next court date has been set for March 7th at 10 a.m.
