2-year-old ejected as DUI motorist smashes into back of semi truck

Published:

Two people, including a toddler, were partially ejected from a pickup in Texas on Sunday morning during a crash with a semi truck.

The accident happened on August 28th at approximately 6:50 a.m. in Bellmead on Interstate 35.

KWTX 10 News reports that 21-year-old Isaiha Robinson was driving a Ford F150 north on I-35 near mile marker 338 when he crashed into the back of a tractor trailer. The force of the collision partially ejected an unbuckled adult and a two-year-old girl from the cab of the pickup.

Both the unidentified adult and the 2-year-old were transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Upon investigation, officers determined that Robinson was “intoxicated and in possession of a substance” at the time of the wreck.

Robinson has since been arrested and booked into the McLennan County Jail for DUI, possession of a substance, felony intoxication assault, abandoning or endangering a child, and manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance.
