A heavy duty wrecker valued at nearly $1 million was stolen from a business in Miami over the weekend, prompting an ongoing investigation.

The truck was stolen from TruckMax Inc., 6000 Northwest 77th Court in Miami, Florida at around 1 a.m.

According to Local 10 News, surveillance video shows several people pulling up to the business in a white semi truck, pulling down the business’s gate with a chain, and getting the $800,000 truck started without a key.

The owner of the rig believes that it is possible the thieves used the key to another, similar wrecker to get this one started. He says that the truck was recently at an auction, where it was sold pending final transaction details. The owner suspects that the thieves saw the valuable truck at the auction and worked out where it was being stored in order to steal it.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
