Eighty four people were “rescued” from a semi truck north of the Mexico, Texas border on Thursday.
The incident occurred on October 6th near Weslaco, Texas.
According to Spectrum News One, “a concerned citizen called to report a tractor trailer arrive at a residence … and seeing people unloading from the trailer,” Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra said.
When officers arrived, they found the 84 migrants, all from Central America, none of which required medical attention.
Agents with ICE Homeland Security Investigations are looking into the incident as a possible case of human smuggling. No further information has been released.
