99,000lb crane leads to 8.5 hours cleanup after being dislodged from trailer

Multiple crews spent eight and a half hours clearing the scene after a large crane fell off a flatbed trailer in Mississippi on Wednesday afternoon. 

The incident happened on December 28th on Highway 15 north near the Highway 537 intersection at around 2:30 p.m. in Jones County, Mississippi. 

According to WDAM 7 News, the crane slid off the flatbed trailer after it became dislodged and landed on the grassy shoulder of the highway. 

After responding to the scene, county officials called in multiple crews with various types of large machinery, including three large wreckers, to help clear the mess. Crews spent around eight and a half hours working to clear the incident. 

The highway was completely closed for four hours and partially closed for the remaining four and a half. Crews finished the job around 11 p.m. No further information has been released.
