Abandoned vehicle sends big rig down steep embankment

A truck driver is okay after colliding with an abandoned car in Pennsylvania on Sunday night. 

The accident happened on January 30th at around 9 p.m. in Lackawanna County. 

According to PA Homepage, police were already on their way to investigate reports of an abandoned vehicle in the middle of Valley View Drive when the semi truck collided with the vehicle. The force of the impact sent the big rig rolling down a steep roadside embankment and tore open the trailer, spilling a load of Chewy pet supply packages. 

The driver suffered minor injuries in the incident but is expected to recover. 

The reason behind the abandoned vehicle is not clear.
