One man is dead after a semi truck experienced a tire blowout in San Antonio on Wednesday evening.
The accident happened on April 13th just after 5 p.m. in the 11900 block of I-10 near De Zavala Road.
According to KSAT News, a semi truck hauling gravel north on I-10 blew a tire, causing it to lose control and swerve into a Toyota Corolla and a Jeep. The force of the impact sent the Corolla spinning, and it eventually ended up on top of the concrete barrier wall, where it skidded until it struck a metal pillar and caught fire
The driver of the Corolla was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries. Their identity has not been released. The driver of the Jeep sustained non life threatening injuries. Their current condition is unknown. No further injuries were reported.
