Box truck driver unidentified after hit-and-run with 15-year-old

Police are looking to identify a box truck driver who fled the scene after an accident with a 15-year-old pedestrian. 

The accident happened on the afternoon of July 11th in Cherokee County, Georgia. 

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the 15-year-old girl was crossing the street on Bells Ferry Road, just south of Highway 92 when she was struck by the white box truck. The box truck fled the scene immediately while witnesses contacted emergency services. The girl was then transported to a local hospital before being flown to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite Hospital. Her current condition is not known. 

An image of the truck was captured on a nearby traffic camera, but no identifying markings can be seen in the video. Police are asking anyone with a dash cam who may have been in the area at the time of the incident to please review their footage for any identifying markings.
