BREAKING: Day-long standoff with suicidal trucker continues in Las Vegas

A street in Las Vegas has been shut down since this morning as officials attempt to negotiate with a trucker barricaded in his semi truck. 

The incident began at around 8:16 a.m. on Cheyenne Avenue near Las Vegas Boulevard in Nevada. 

According to Fox 5 Vegas, police initially received a report of a drunk truck driver in the 4000 block of East Cheyenne Avenue and responded to the scene. Officers located the semi truck and found the driver inside, refusing to come out. 

SWAT and crisis negotiators are responding to the scene. The driver has been described as suicidal, reported 3 News Las Vegas.

Cheyenne Avenue is shut down in both directions from Walnut Road to Lamb Boulevard as authorities continue to respond to the incident.
