Chain requirements and vehicle restrictions are in place at Snoqualmie Pass in Washington today as winter weather moves through the area.
As of Monday, April 4th, chains are required on Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie Pass, and oversize vehicles are currently prohibited along eastbound I-90 near Denny Creek at milepost 47 – five miles west of the summit – and westbound near Gold Creek milepost 56 – four miles east of the summit.
As of 10:30 a.m., the right lane of westbound I-90 was blocked by a semi truck that did not chain up.
According to Fox 41 Yakima, a winter storm warning remains in effect until 8 a.m. tomorrow, April 5th, above 2,500 feet. Possible whiteout conditions are predicted above 2,500 feet with winds gusts between 40 and 50 mph.
