CHP handed out nearly 400 free lunches to truckers for Driver Appreciation

On Monday, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) coordinated with other organizations to provide truckers with a bagged lunch for Truck Driver Appreciation Week.

The lunch giveaway happened at the Cordelia Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility in Fairfield, California.

CHP says that members of the California Trucking Association along with Western Truck Center cooked lunches, then members of the California Air Resource Board, PrePass, Drivewyze, CHP Commercial Vehicle Section, and Cordelia staff worked to hand out food to drivers at the Cordelia facility.

“…375 bagged lunches were handed out as a thank you to the drivers who keep commerce moving,” CHP said.

CHP’s Donner Pass facility is offering a similar Truck Driver Appreciation event on September 13, with truckers treated to a free BBQ lunch.
