Colorado cops say someone drilled a hole in a semi’s fuel tank, causing 200 gallon diesel spill

Police in Lakewood, Colorado, are investigating a diesel fuel theft/spill that occurred on Monday morning.

The Lakewood Police Department (LPD) says that they received a call around 6:45 a.m. for an active fuel spill near the intersection of West Dartmouth Place and West Dartmouth Avenue.

When officers arrived on scene, residents reported a strong smell of diesel and that fuel was spilling from the tank of a nearby parked truck.

Police discovered that a hole had been drilled in the truck’s fuel tank.

LPD says that approximately 200 gallons of diesel spilled from the damaged tank and into drainage areas leading to nearby Bear Creek.

No arrests have been made and police have no suspect information currently.
