Concrete pipes roll when rig fails to negotiate curve

Published:

22 tons of concrete pipes rolled off of a flatbed truck in Ohio on Thursday.

The incident happened on July 14th in Hubbard Township, Ohio.

According to WKBN 27, the tractor trailer hauling 22 tons of concrete pipes flipped over while negotiating an exit ramp, sending the pipes rolling onto the road and into a nearby ditch. Some fuel was spilled in the wreck, but no injuries were reported.

The Ohio State Patrol reports that the truck driver did not reduce speed properly along the exit ramp, causing the overturn.

The exit ramp was shut down for around an hour as crews worked to remove the wrecked truck, but has since been reopened. The removal of the concrete pipes in the roadside ditch did not affect traffic.
