Concrete slab load shift pins driver in cab 

A truck driver was flown to the hospital after being pinned in his cab by a shifted load of concrete on Wednesday morning. 

The accident happened on September 14th at 11:04 a.m. near Lake in the Hills, Illinois. 

According to Lake & McHenry County Scanner, the driver braked while traveling southbound near Randall Road and Algonquin Road when the load of concrete beams shifted and pierced the back of the cab, pinning the male driver inside. 

Firefighters were able to extricate the driver and perform life saving measures. The driver was then transferred to a medical flight crew from LifeStar that landed at the scene and was flown to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

The incident is still under investigation and no citations have been issued.
