A two vehicle crash left a Virginia roadway covered in corn debris on Tuesday morning.
The crash occurred during the Tuesday morning rush hour on I-64 in Albemarle County, Virginia.
According to reports, a box truck collided with a semi truck hauling corn in the westbound lanes of I-64 at mile marker 124.
Albemarle County Fire Rescue extricated one person from a crashed vehicle and transported them to the hospital.
“The crash has resulted in corn debris across the roadway. Drivers should expect delays in the Pantops area and follow detour signage as posted,” firefighters said.
One lane of I-64 has reopened, but miles-long traffic backups have been reported in the area.
