Crash with semi sends car engine flying into oncoming traffic

Published:

A motorist was critically injured on Thursday morning after crashing head-on with a semi truck in Florida.

The crash happened on March 24th at around 12:20 p.m. on State Road 429 at mile marker 19.

According to Click Orlando News, the motorist in a sedan lost control in the northbound lanes of SR 429, skidded across the grassy median, and smashed into a semi truck traveling in the southbound lanes. The force of the impact somehow dislodged the car’s engine, which struck another SUV traveling back in the northbound lanes.

The motorist in the sedan was transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. No other injuries were reported. The incident is still under investigation.
