CVSA held surprise brake blitz last week, more than 350 trucks inspected in Georgia

Last week, law enforcement agencies across the country participated in a surprise brake safety enforcement effort.

On April 27, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) held a nationwide unannounced one-day brake safety enforcement initiative called Brake Safety Day.

During the annual event, inspectors checked for brake systems violations that could prove detrimental to highway safety.

The Georgia Department of Public Safety‘s Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD) participated in the surprise brake check.

During the single day effort, MCCD officers inspected 366 commercial vehicles and placed 65 out of service for brake-related violations.

Several other CVSA enforcement efforts, including a week-long brake blitz, are planned for 2022. See below for key dates.
