Dining mother and child injured by flying truck tire

Published:

A mother and her child sustained minor injuries after a tandem truck tire crashed through the window of a restaurant.

The accident happened in Lumberton, Texas at about 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 18th.

According to 6 KFDM News, a semi truck was traveling north along Main Street when the driver unknowingly lost a tandem tire. The wheel then went crashing through the window of Crazy Jose’s restaurant, where a mother and child were dining. The wheels then rolled across the street and into the parking lot of a convenience store.

The two were transported to a nearby hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.

Police Chief Danny Sullins says that the truck driver likely drove off without realizing what had happened. Officers eventually found the truck and driver still in Lumberton. No further information has been released.
