A truck driver was able to free themself from a wreck that sent their rig plummeting off of an overpass in Connecticut on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident happened on April 13th in Milford at 3:29 p.m.
Milford Professional Firefighters report that the tractor trailer was traveling along Interstate 95 southbound when, for reasons that are not clear, it lost control and fell off the overpass, landing on Boston Post Road below. The driver was able to free themself from the wreckage, but was soon transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries.
Crews were able to stop a diesel leak resulting from the wreck and sought the help of a tow truck to bring the rig upright and clear it from the scene.
