Gunfire exchanged between trucker and motorist in Kansas City road rage incident

Published:

A suspected road rage shooting involving a semi truck driver and a car driver was reported in the Kansas City, Missouri, area on Friday.

The incident occurred around 11:35 a.m. on I-35, according to state police.

Local outlet KMBC reports that the driver of a black Dodge Charger pulled out in front of a semi truck and slowed, forcing the truck driver to a halt on the interstate.

A person exited the Dodge while the truck driver exited the cab of the semi. The two people exchanged gunfire.

The black car then fled the scene onto NE Chouteau Trafficway while traveling northbound.

The truck driver wasn’t injured, but the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) said that the truck was full of bullet holes.

MSHP issued a description of the suspect vehicle: “black w/ red stripes Dodge Charger w/ unknown temp tag.”

Police have alerted area hospitals to be on the lookout for a gunshot victim.

Any person who witnessed the shooting or who has information on the Dodge Charger driver is asked to call MSHP Troop A at (816) 622-0800.

This is a developing story.
