Drivers are urged to use extra caution while crossing the Mackinac bridge today due to high winds in the area.
A high wind warning was issued by the Mackinac Bridge Authority on Monday, October 17th at 10:30 a.m. CST.
The Authority is warning all motorists and truck drivers to turn on their flashers, limit speeds to 20 mph, use the outside lane, and to “exercise appropriate caution.”
Wind speeds at several points on the bridge are being monitored and the Authority will take additional steps if wind conditions worsen.
