“HUGE” delays continue on I-285 ramp in Georgia following double dump truck, semi crash

Drivers on the Interstate 285 ramp to Interstate 85 in Dekalb County are experiencing “huge” delays after a crash involving two dump trucks and a tractor trailer shut down the roadway.

The accident happened in the early morning of April 12th. No fatalities were reported, but one person was reportedly trapped inside of one of the vehicles and injuries sustained in the wreck were described as significant.

At 6:50 a.m. authorities told 11 Alive News that major backups should be expected to continue for some time. Only one far left lane was open on I-285 eastbound at I-85 northbound at Dunwoody through Doraville for nearly two hours.

As of 8:30 a.m. all lanes were reopened, but “huge” backups remained in the area. Drivers are encouraged to use GA 400 Sb to I-85 NB as an alternate route.
