I-30 closed through Dallas morning rush hour after semi truck spills eggs 

Interstate 30 was shut down in Dallas on Monday morning after a semi truck crashed into a bridge, spilling its load of eggs onto the freeway. 

The crash happened on I-30 near the I-45 interchange in Dallas, Texas at around 4 a.m. on May 16th. 

According to The Dallas Morning News, the semi truck was hauling 35,000 pounds of eggs on I-30 when it slammed into a pillar on the Malcom x Boulevard bridge. The impact broke open the trailer and a diesel tank, spilling the load of eggs and some diesel onto the roadway. 

The mess forced the closure of the westbound lanes of I-30 near downtown for cleanup of the eggs and fuel leak. As of 8:40 a.m., traffic was still being rerouted off of I-30 at the I-45 exit, reported KBTX 3 News. There is no estimated time of reopening.

The truck driver was able to walk away from the incident without injury. No further information has been released.
