Little girl, toddler killed in three-vehicle wreck that claimed 5 lives

Five people are dead after a wreck between two cars and a semi truck in Florida on Sunday night. 

The accident occurred on October 31st at around 9:30 p.m. in Hillsborough County, Florida. 

According to WESH News, an SUV was traveling north on State Road 39 when it crossed the centerline for unknown reasons and drove into the path of a southbound pickup truck. The two vehicles collided and a southbound tractor trailer soon struck the wreckage.

The 53-year-old pickup truck driver was killed in the wreck. Three people in the SUV were also killed – the 20-year-old driver, a 12-year-old girl, and a 1-year-old girl. Three other passengers in the SUV, a 31-year-old, a 22-year-old, and a 5-year-old sustained serious injuries in the incident. All occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. 

The truck driver was not hurt in the accident. Investigators have not disclosed why the SUV left its lane, causing the initial crash.
