A Florida man was arrested on Monday after attempting to steal a semi truck while a couple was inside.
The incident happened on December 5th off of Beal Parkway in Okaloosa County, Florida.
According to ABC 3 News, police were called when 30-year-old Edward Cawley forced his way into a semi truck occupied by a man and his girlfriend.
The victims later told police that Cawley told them he needed the truck, and then began to try the throttle.
Once taken into custody, Cawley told officers he needed the semi truck to “get away from everyone.”
Cawley was arrested and booked into Okaloosa County Jail on Monday night. He is being held on $25,000 bond.
