A major pileup crash has been reported on I-81 in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
The crash occurred shortly before 11 a.m. on Monday, March 28, on northbound I-81 at the Minersville Exit near mile marker 116.1 in Lavelle, Pennsylvania, according to the Butler Township Police Department.
Police described the crash as a “mass casualty” incident with multiple injuries and a tanker on fire.
An early estimate from the Butler Township Police Department indicated that approximately 20 vehicles were involved in the crash.
A snow squall was reported in the area at the time of the pileup.

I-81 is expected to remain closed for several hours.
