The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is asking drivers to plan ahead for a rest area closure.
The Belleville Rest Area off westbound I-94, west of Belleville Road in Belleville, Michigan, will close starting April 4.
The entire facility will be closed, including the rest area’s 33 truck parking spaces.
The closure is expected to last through April 25.
During the rest area closure, crews will make upgrades to the exterior of the rest area so that the facility is in compliance with the the Americans with Disabilities Act. These upgrades include replacing the curb and sidewalks and installing new benches, handrails, picnic facilities, tables, stoves, and trash receptacles.
