More than 800 violations discovered during three day commercial vehicle enforcement detail

This month, the Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) spearheaded a three day enforcement effort targeting “unsafe commercial vehicles and drivers.”

The detail took place April 5 — 7 in the Savannah area.

During the three day detail, Georgia DPS Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD) performed 240 commercial vehicle inspections, placing 42 vehicles and 20 drivers out of service.

Additionally, officers discovered a total of 504 vehicle violations and 334 driver violations during the three day effort.
