Two firefighters were injured by a semi truck while responding to a previous wreck in Texas on Monday afternoon.
The accident happened on June 6th in Centerville at around 3:20 p.m.
According to Firehouse News, firefighters were responding to an accident between a sedan and a pickup truck on Interstate 45 when a semi truck slammed into the stopped sedan. The force of the impact pushed the sedan into the pickup truck and caused the rig to overturn, striking two firefighters.
21-year-old firefighter Colton Adams was transported by helicopter with critical injuries. 46-year-old Clint Franklin was also transported to the hospital by helicopter, but was treated and released the same day.
“Colton is in stable condition with a long recovery but will need continuous prayers. Please continue praying for Colton, Clint, their families and for Centerville VFD,” wrote the Marquez Volunteer Fire Department in a Facebook post.
The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup driver and trucker were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
