Nebraska DOT closes ALL roads into Colorado, no truck parking available west of Grand Island

The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) has closed all roads into Colorado as a severe winter storm pummels the state.

Around 2:30 p.m. on December 13, NDOT stated that “All roadways from Nebraska into Colorado are CLOSED” due to blizzard conditions that are making travel hazardous. Additionally closures remain in place at North Platte for westbound I-80 and Highway 30.

Additionally, NDOT says that truck parking is completely unavailable west of Grand Island.

NDOT is reminding truckers that truck parking is prohibited on roadways, shoulders, and interchanges. Parking in these locations will delay snow removal further.

NDOT did not provide an estimate on when roadways could reopen.
